Unlike fractions are fractions with different denominators.

Example: ³⁄₇ , ³⁄₈ , ⁹⁄₁₇ , ¹⁄₂₀

Proper fractions are fractions whose numerator is less than the denominator.

Example: ³⁄₇ , ¹⁄₂₀ , ⁶⁄₁₁ , ²⁄₃

Improper fractions are fractions whose numerator is greater than the denominator.

Example: ³⁄₂ , ⁵⁄₃ , ⁶⁄₅ , ¹⁵⁄₁₁

Mixed fraction are improper fractions that are expressed in the form of a whole number and a fraction.

Example: 1 ³⁄₇ , 4 ¹⁄₂₀ , 8 ⁶⁄₁₁ , 12 ²⁄₃

Unit fractions are fractions whose numerator is 1.

Example: ¹⁄₂ , ¹⁄₃ , ¹⁄₅ , ¹⁄₁₁
