Angle & Types of angles

What is Triangle?

Triangle is a closed figure.

Triangle has three sides and three vertices.

Triangle has three angles. Sum of all three angles are equal to 180 degree (180o)

This triangle can be represented as ABC. A, B and C are vertices of the triangle.

Triangles can be classified based on their sides and angles.

Types of Triangles basis on their sides

Equilateral Triangle

If all three sides of a triangle are euqal then it is called equilateral triangle.

Each angle of a equilateral triangle is 60 degree (60o)

Isosceles Triangle

If any two sides of a triangle are euqal then it is called isosceles triangle.

Scalene Triangle

If all three sides of a triangle have different lengths then it is called scalene triangle.

Types of Triangles basis on their angles

Right-angled Triangle

If one angle is a right angle (90o) then it is called right-angled triangle

Acute-angled Triangle

If all angles of a triangle is acute ( less than 90o) then it is called acute-angled triangle

Obtuse-angled Triangle

If one angle of a triangle is Obtuse ( greater than 90o and less than 180o ) then it is called obtuse-angled triangle.
